Farm trucks generally get a bad rap. They spend their lives covered in field dust, held together by nothing but stubbornness and whatever baling wire was lying around the barn. But every now and then, a rig comes along that defies that reputation.

We had the privilege of helping transform a true working horse into a show-quality masterpiece, and seeing the final product showcased in 10-4 Magazine was a highlight for our entire crew here at the shop.

From Field Work to Show-Ready

The mission was simple but demanding: take a rig that actually earns its keep and give it a second life without stripping away the soul that makes it a farm truck. It needed to remain a beast on the road while looking like it belonged under the lights at a major show.

  • Chassis & Stance: We focused on a frame swap that maintained those heavy 3.70 rear ends. This isn't just for show; the owner still needs to haul serious tonnage. We kept the muscle intact while refining the overall profile.

  • Billet Metalwork: Factory plastic doesn't survive in the real world, and it certainly doesn't belong in a featured build. We designed custom interior panels and accents that look sharp and hold up against high-speed vibration.

  • Custom Lighting: We engineered custom interior layouts and brackets specifically for this build, ensuring everything fits tight and clean.

Real Craftsmanship on the Asphalt

At Spare Time Fab, we don't build trailer queens. Every custom bracket or panel we cut is engineered to handle the reality of the highway: gravel roads, long hours, and the constant rattle of the road. Getting the nod from 10-4 Magazine proved that you can have style without sacrificing the grit that defines American iron. Attention to detail isn't just a buzzword for us; it’s the only way to do the job.

Rep the Shop: Gear Built for Guys Who Cut Metal

You don't need a full frame-up custom build to carry that same mindset. Whether you're in the shop or out on the road, our gear is designed to withstand the same environment we work in.

10-4 Magazine: Final Thoughts

This build was a reminder of why we do what we do. It’s about respect for the owner, for the hard work, and for doing the job right the first time. If you want to see how it all came together, check out the full photo spread and story over at 10-4 Magazine. Keep the wheels turning and keep building.
