definitely an upgrade! it's a pretty heavy piece compared to what you bolt it to, which caused some additional squeaks I had to chase down. I would recommend using loc-tight on the screws, they have the potential to vibrate loose. otherwise, pretty easy install, add the CB bracket under it and I wouldn't wanna go back to the factory method. the lights are seriously bright.
